Chocolate Protein Mousse

When you are trying to eat a more balanced diet, one that matches or works to balance your energy in vs energy out, for weight loss or weight management, we can often revert back to thinking we have to restrict ourselves from foods that are ‘nicer’. But, there are many recipes that TASTE like you are eating those ‘nicer’ foods, but in fact forms part of a balanced diet. Below is a recipe for a chocolate¬†pudding which is full of good fats and high in antioxidants.

Fats have been demonised for years and are one of the most confusing topics of nutrition for many. It is essential that we eat the right fats and enough of them! There are still ‘bad’ fats, and ‘good fats’ but it can all get a little confusing. So why eat this recipe?

  • Sugar craving crushed – if you are having a craving this can help
  • Protein powder – this can be a great way of getting enough protein into your diet, especially if you are working out
  • Plain yoghurt – full of good bacteria for health gut flora
  • Raw honey – a less processed way of sweetening your foods up
  • Unprocessed cacao – a food so rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients which can help stop cravings for more sugars. It is also a great source of fibre.

Serves 1


  • 1 scoop (30g) protein powder or 2tbsp hemp or chia seeds
  • 220g plain yoghurt
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 6 strawberries chopped
  • 2tsp raw unprocessed cacao
